“Rock Star Renovation lives up to it’s name. These contractors ROCK! The finished product ROCKS! Working with them has been a pure delight. I’m an acupuncturist and they renovated a new commercial space for me. Genny and the crew are so creative and innovative. They’re not just contractors, they are artists and were instrumental partners in designing my new office. They took my dreams to the next level with their creativity, skill and expertise. I was working on a budget and was pretty apprehensive and concerned about the limitations that would create, however, Rock Star made all my dreams come true AND MORE! “We had a great experience with Genny. We hired rock star renovation to a big project on our house. We renovated our kitchen, living room, bathroom, 3 bedrooms and hallway. Majority of the work was gutting and a complete rebuild. Our end result was above our expectation.
We first renovated our basement with another contractor and ended up very dissapointed. We were then given a recommendation to Rock Star and then had Genny in our house the next day after calling her. She came into the house with an enthusiastic attitude and a lot of great ideas to add on to what we were already planning. She lead us to add parts to the project that we never would have surmised yet she always was very mindful of our budget. I could tell she was trying to make this a great renovation but was always cognizant of not pushing us beyond what we could afford. She really treated this project like it was her own house and I could see the excitement she held with approaching each part.
Our kitchen involved a complete gut and we turned a closed concept into an open. She was able to put in a huge island that can now double as a ping pong table. One idea she added to the kitchen was to put heated floors (which we are loving during this particularly record breaking cold winter). All the work is high quality.
Our living room floor was sanded and stained to a nice grey tone.
Genny’s carpenter put in a custom designed railing that looks amazing.
Our bathroom is the pinnacle aspect of the project. It was gutted. Genny enlarged the bathroom. This allowed us to go from only a shower/tub to having a whirlpool tub and a walk-in shower.
The painting around the house was all done with Benjamin Moore paint and looks wonderful.
She took out our window/wall unit air conditioner and gave us slimline HVAC system so we now can heat/cool rooms separately.
One of the more unique but eye catching part of our project was making what some would label as “catification”. She put a catwalk on our living room wall that anyone that sees it first compliments it as a great looking shelf, but then are impressed when we tell them it is a catwalk. It runs the length of the wall with steps that lead up to it. She even added cove lighting to it for a little extra pizzaz. One of her coolest ideas was adding a seperate entrance to our bedroom for the cats. This allows us to keep our bedroom door closed when we have guests or when we want to just turn the air conditioner on in the bedroom and still allow our cats to come and go without annoying us to open the door.
Another one of her great ideas was putting in a skylight that opens electronically and gives us amazing amount of natural light.
All in all we are incredibly happy with the end result. We enjoyed working with Genny and her crew. They were respectful of the neighbors and our time. The quality is superb. I would hire her again in a heart beat for any future projects and would recommend her highly to anyone who wants a great contractor who always seems to enjoy what she is doing.”
